Program of Engineering Technique & Information Application

l         Introduction

The department of Civil Engineering was founded in 1989. Currently, the department offers four-year education program in day school. In 2003, the program was separated into two divisions: Engineering Techniques and Information Application. In August 2006, the master program of Graduate Institute of Road Technology was established and was changed its name to Graduate School of Civil Engineering the next year.

l         Educational Concepts

To cultivate civil engineers not only with ideas of humanities and technology but also with the skills of theoretical and practical.

l         Educational Goals

The concept of the department is to prepare students with al solid background in civil engineering and information applications. In addition, the training goals include the management skills, English proficiency, and a mature personality.

l         Courses

Day School: four-year college program.

l         Features

The department aims to develop hazard mitigation and prevention engineering and spatial information systems through integrating engineering techniques and information technology.

Developing cooperative relationships and strategic unions between industry and the civil department in southern Taiwan are also the goals of the department.

l         Faculty

Faculty members in this department include 2 professors, 4 associate professors, 1 asistant professor and 2 lecturers (12 of our faculty hold a Ph.D. degree, including 3 en route). Many of them hold their PE (professional engineers) certificates.

l         Curriculum
